Salman Khan just doesn't know when to stop, does he?

During a rapid fire round with Bollywood Hungama - as part of his upcoming film Bharat promotions - Salman Khan said something highly inappropriate AGAIN.

The show's host asked him, 'If not an actor what would the following people be?' and gave him a list of A-listers, one of whom was of Katrina Kaif.

After an awkward pause, in which, mind you, the host also suggested that Kat could be a producer, Salman dropped this gem: "If Katrina Kaif is not actor she should be married and produce children."

Should.

We're so glad Katrina didn't shy away from calling him out and cut him off saying, "If I was not an actor what profession would I be, he's asking. Would I be a doctor, would I be an engineer?"

And the response was a familiar, "How much?"

We get that Salman cannot see a woman's capabilities beyond getting married and having children - not that that exonerates him from his archaic beliefs - but let's keep the mansplaining to a zero. Women can decide for themselves whether they want to get married and have children. It’s also quite embarrassing that someone like Salman who has known Kat intimately for years now can’t think of an alternative career for her other than motherhood.

Perhaps his response wouldn't have been as painful to hear if he had given the same ridiculous answer when speaking of the other actors he was asked about. Like Aamir Khan who Salman thinks "will be very successful in whatever he'd be" and Shah Rukh Khan who he believes "can do anything and be good at it."

But apparently when it comes to women, he cannot comprehend anything other than marriage and children. For example when he was asked about Alia Bhatt his response was a fast, "I don't know what she would do."

A solid word of advice Salman, save face and stop giving interviews.

This guy has a brain of a two-year-old when asked questions related to women. Time and time again, he proves it.

Salman Khan is a 53 year old petulant brat with Zero acting skills. He's the kind of guy who gives all men a bad name. Never quite understand his popularity!

It’s obvious he was just joking with Katrina Kaif as she was right there. Please don’t create controversy where it doesn’t exist. It’s obvious he’s into her

@Nabeel I think you're right. The interview was in a light hearted manner and I think even Katrina knows that.

Why do we think that being a housewife us derogatory? If a doctor or engineering is good then housewife ie raising next generation ranks top

Salman’s comments were typical of celebrities who often are not and do not prepare for live interviews. Most utter the nonsense answers and at times resort to chauvinism. Unfortunately most audience laugh and honor these celebrities. Katrina may some day conceive and produce - can Salman?

Salman Khan just showed the typical desi toxic masculine mindset that is insecure and cant stand women standing up and being independent. This is largely the mindset among mostly insecure men across india and pakistan.

There is something called sence of humor. Its now a pattern the some people are quick to turn around everything into harassment and against feminism. Now you have to stop here. You have no right to insult someone under the cover of so called feminism.

What he said is right on a lighter note, but he should have answered professionally. She is a professional woman. Now a days most of the professional woman does not want to hear that or they prefer to hear that at a certain time frame which is very hard to decided for a Man like Salman Khan. Salman needs to think when he made this statement that he just want kids not their mother.... very Small thinking for a big guy like him.

In Salman view, it was a compliment, as it associated it with, being appreciated as a wife, having children hence motherhood. Both highly respected roles and much more than an engineer or a doctor.

@Zulfiqar please if that is what you call joking then you should not joke about women. Joke about how Salman Khan is a sexiest and a narrow minded person alright or how about you joke about men like that. It will be appreciated.

@Lord_ickenham Actually by her own admission in an old interview still available online she left him because of the violence and the humiliation of him attacking her verbally on movie sets and denigrating her parents. I fiund it or ionic that he later championed women's charities against domestic violence. Perhaps he changed but I don't think he will ever marry.

@Nabeel So if a woman made similar comments about men you would be OK with it? Creeping misogyny attacks again... Sigh.

@Shadkama there is nothing wrong in being a house wife if a woman wants to but the problem is forcing someone into becoming one,why can't we respect their choices to either continue to work or be a house wife

People want him to marry. Because that is whats normal to us. Its common in our part of the world to marry and have a family. I hope he does. But it is entirely possible that he may not marry or that he simply isnt into girls . Either way if he choses to have kids they will be beautiful.

Interestingly, there would be no backlash had Katrina said the same about Salman Khan.
