Fast and Furious regular Michelle Rodriguez will play Leticia Ortiz in the ninth installment after all.

The actor, who has been attached with the action franchise since its inception, had said in a June 2017 Instagram post that she might considering walking out of the films if producers don't “some love to the women of the franchise on the next one”.

According to Bloomberg, F&F producers have heeded her demand and the ninth film will involve a female screenwriter.

At the recently held Bloomberg Future of Equality Summit in London, Rodriguez had talked about why she decided to take a stand, “I felt like there was not enough of a female voice in the franchise. You should evolve with the times, not just pander to certain demographics that are stuck.”

Fast & Furious 9 doesn’t have a release date, but production is expected to begin this year. Justin Lin, who directed Fast Five and Fast & Furious 6, will return to helm the ninth and tenth films.
