After playing warrior king T'Challa in Black Panther, Chadwick Boseman is ready for another action flick.

This time, he will be playing the first African samurai to wield a sword in Japan.

Deadline broke the news about the upcoming film which revolves around the legend of Yasuke, a native of Portuguese Mozambique who was brought to Japan as a slave in the 16th century.

Said Boseman about the film, "The legend of Yasuke is one of history’s best kept secrets, the only person of non-Asian origin to become a Samurai."

He added, “That’s not just an action movie, that’s a cultural event, an exchange, and I am excited to be part of it."

Co-creator of Narcos, Doug Mrio, is writing the script, which has been in talks for a while now. No release has been given as of yet.
