PTI MNA Faisal Vawda is known to be a car enthusiast but when pictures of him getting out of a bright yellow sports car started doing the rounds on social media, people were perplexed once again, all over again.

Read: PTI slams VIP culture, but Faisal Vawda needs 4 security mobiles to protect his bike

Where was Vawda off to in this shiny, in your face spectacle of wealth? After some digging, we found out the pictures are from the Karachi Kings sending off ceremony:

But Twitter had already made assumptions by then. At first, we were told vaguely it was for a "formal function"

Some concluded it was a film shoot

People were not feeling this blatant display of excess

Like really not feeling it

But not everyone was hating...

And then this guy served up some real talk: "It's just a Corvette people, relax!"

This one too; focus on the bigger picture people!

While we're here like...

You can't deny, this kind of OTT incidents are not in line with PTI's "simplicity is key" attitude but hey, to each their own.

As a PTI minister under PMIK he is entitled to good perks. So he will perform well. Better than taking bribes like PMLN and PPP

First of all, he always had nice cars because he is rich and he is an ebthusiast. Also what does Aleema Khan and Imran Khan have to do with it? Neither went rags to riches because of being in power. Last but defintely not the least, that isnt a german car, it's a corvette (American sports car). It is also not the brand new version - its atleast 5 years old.

This is a corvette, old model of an american car which when new is around $60,000, an old model would be around 20 - 30,000. SO if you add the 100% duty it still wont cost more than a land cruiser. This is yet another example of media/social media being fake and after Headlines even if it is through misinformation. Not a German car, Cheaper than a Land Cruiser and available through the old car dealers right here in Pakistan.

Also, so what that he is driving a corvette? If he has the money and he bought it with hiw own money then what is the problem? People should be allowed to live freely as they choose. As long as it is not govt, stolen, corruption, looted etc money, he has the right to do whatever he wants. Chill people, don't be jealous of the rich. Rich has a right to live too and as long as they come under the purview of the law instead of treated as above the law, all is good. The problem is when the rich are treated as above the law that is where it is wrong and people should not tolerate it otherwise live and let live. Also, the more they spend in the country the better because it helps the local economy. In other words, respect the rich and famous, admire the rich and famous but never treat or consider the rich and the famous above the law. Everyone should be treated equal in the eyes of the law.

I dont know what the fuss is about, and why people are saying that this is somehow wrong. If a person is wealthy, he has the right to spend from his wealth. Even in the state of Madinah, Abdur Rehman ibn Awf had wealth amounting to 3.1 billion dinars , 10,000 goats, 1,000 horses, 1,000 camels and a vast area of land. When he was asked about the secret of his success, he replied that he never lifted a stone unless he expected to find gold or silver under it. So I dont see anything wrong in Vawda's car, as long as he is paying his due taxes and Zakat to the poor.

indeed it is old corvette who have no value in Europe. But, In Pakistan, it does have because it goes through various taxes to get a car imported. the price gets double or tripled when it reaches in Pakistan. (Despite the rule of limitation on the age of car i.e. no more than five years old).

As long as he is buying from his own pocket it is his right, to enjoy life in his own personal space, but if he is embezzling then only he be criticized, it has become a habit with our nation to jump to conclusions and start issuing statements just for the heck of it, relax people, learn to observe and differentiate when something fishy is going on.
