ABC's beloved sitcom, Modern Family is returning to television for its 11th and final season.

The single-camera comedy, created by Steve Levitan- and Christopher Lloyd has been a major hit, having tied a TV record in winning five straight best comedy series Emmys. The upcoming season will consist of at least 18 episodes and could expand to 22 episodes.

The show is currently ABC's longest-running comedy. (Grey's Anatomy is its oldest drama at 15 seasons and is expected to return for its 16th.)

"Chris and Steve have created one of the most seminal and iconic comedies in television history," said ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke. "In its final season, there will be more milestone events that anyone who has been a fan of the series won’t want to miss."

In its 10th season, Modern Family remains a top five comedy on broadcast; The series also counts a Golden Globe win, four SAG Awards for best comedy, a Peabody, six WGA Awards and four PGA Awards, among others for its stars.
