Is Kajol starring alongside Ajay Devgn in Tanhaji?
Not much is known about Ajay Devgn's upcoming film Tanhaji but now we're getting a few updates.
Devgn's movie will be a period drama and marks the directorial debut of Om Raut. The film's poster released earlier in January and let us know the tone of the film.
However, Mumbai Mirror discovered that the film just might mark the onscreen reunion of Ajay with wife Kajol, a reunion nine years in the making!
A source revealed that Kajol is currently shooting for a song in Tanhaji and that the two will play a married couple in the film. No rehearsals needed there!
According to the source, "The song was shot over a week in the last week of December and is a part of the climax. It sees Kajol dressed in a traditional Maharashtrian outfit from the 17th century, inside her onscreen home. It has her thinking about her relationship with her warrior husband and a certain situation the couple is faced with at the time. Although Ajay won't feature in the number, there are glimpses of their past moments together."
The source added that Kajol, being half Maharashtian, was best suited for the performance as it required a basic understanding of the language and other traditional elements. "The dance number accentuates her character’s emotional state and focuses on her facial expressions."
Tanaji: The Unsung Warrior will be based on a 17th century Maharashtrian military leader. The cast also includes Saif Ali Khan as a villainous character.
