There's been a whole lot of hype for Salman Khan's upcoming film Bharat and not much intel about what to expect from it.

But that changes a bit with the release of Bharat's first teaser, which reveals that the film isn't just Salman's love letter to his motherland, but his character is named Bharat too. Just Bharat. "No surname, caste or creed necessary," he says in the minute-long teaser.

The film is said to show the journey of "a man and a nation together". And what a journey it appears to be, as we see Salman first as a coal miner (or similar) barely escaping an underground collapse, then as a captain on a fancy ocean liner, and finally as a daredevil stuntsman at a circus. Just what kind of crazy adventurous life this Bharat has and how that reflects India's tumultuous history, we'll have to wait to see.

The film, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, also stars Katrina Kaif and Tabu in main roles. It will release on Eid ul Fitr 2019.

Latest trend in Bollywood is the characters don't want to have a name that people can associate with any religion. Talk about fake ideals.
