Makers of Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 tried their best to extend a hand towards India; by featuring Indian TV actor Kanwaljit Singh in the film and sending love to India on their Independence Day.

In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, the Indian actor spoke about how the team got in touch with him and their treatment towards him during the course of the shoot.

"The writer, Vasay Chaudhry, got in touch with filmmaker Ravi Rai, who makes TV shows in India, saying that he wanted an Indian actor to play the heroine’s father, Nawab saab, since the character is Indian. The character was interesting because he hates Pakistanis but has a change of heart towards the end," said Singh.

The actor plays the role of Kubra Khan's father who is an Indian and heavily opposed to Pakistanis. Though he was featured in a Pakistani film, his scenes were shot in Dubai.

Speaking of cross border mergers, he said, "The team treated me wonderfully. I’ve acted in an Indo-Pak collaboration Virsa, which was made in Punjabi in 2010. Arya Babbar played the lead. Such interactions are important. You don’t need a visa to go there. We should end meaningless fights between both countries. Cultural exchange is important. It has been happening for years."

Humayun Saeed, producer and lead actor of JPNA 2 is known for maintaining good relations with his Indian counterparts, like Mahesh Bhatt. It's no wonder that an actor from the neighbouring country was brought on board for the project.
