Sonali Bendre's fight with cancer continues to inspire.

The former Bollywood star who revealed her battle with cancer just a few weeks ago, has inspired many from the film fraternity and Anupam Kher has joined the list.

He went to visit Sonali for two weeks in NY and he's branded her his 'hero'.

He wrote on Twitter of their meet: "I have done few films with @iamsonalibendre. We’ve met socially many times in Mumbai. She always has been bright & a very warm person. But it is only in the last 15 days that I got the opportunity to spend some quality time with her in NY. And I can easily say,”She is my HERO.”"

Sonali has been taking the illness in her stride, she has posted her transformations since she broke the news online; from cutting her hair short to going bald, she has found a new way to look at life - and love it.

Indian model Lisa Ray who fought multiple myeloma and came out of it should be Sonali's role model. I hope she comes out of it.

Yes, there are 'n' number of factors which may cause cancer, but apparently she used to boast diet quality and control, exercise and a life full of health-care. I don't know if she was a smoker, non-veg foody or "Gutaka" fan which is always accused as cancer-friendly life-style. But she still fell pray. And being a celebrity, celebrities are talking of her brave fight which is also done by many other down-to-the-ground patients and went un-noticed. Why I sound to be hypocratic with above lines is because the same celebrities who are making a music in chorus are seen spending few hours at least once in a month with a cancer fighting ordinary patient.
