Mahira Khan is attending her THIRD film festival this year and we wonder how she does it all.

On the sidelines of the Pakistan Film Festival in New York, Mahira Khan gave her two cents about being a working mom in the movie industry.

Mahira revealed she was still feeding her son Azlan when she joined the sets of Shoaib Mansoor's Bol. Said the actor, "Everybody there [on the sets] was surprised [at me working while taking care of Azlan] and even I was at times, because this was 9 years ago. Just imagine."

Times were different a decade ago and it was definitely not easier to be a working mother back then, especially to an infant.

Added Mahira, "The thing is, and I think this is the best quote ever invented as far as babies and moms are concerned, a child gives birth to a mother. You just have to adapt. Yes, you have a child but the child has given birth to [a new] you and you know exactly what you're suppose to do. It's harder, it's difficult, not easy."

While raising a child is a tough job, the actor revealed that a little support goes a long way. "I don't think I would've made it if it wasn't for all the support I had. Azlan's father, my parents, me, we all were in it together and we were all in sync about how to raise him. "

Mahira also had a nice point about female actors being asked about their families and children more than men. In a short and sweet statement she said, "I think dads should also be asked these questions as well."

About PFFNY, Mahira believes that Pakistani films need to be a part of larger festivals that show more movies from other parts of the world. "I would love to see other films be included, because of that we will have other people attend a festival and watch our movies. Our films need to go out there in the world and people should be able to see that 'okay this is Pakistani cinema and this is what people are doing'," said the actor.

When asked which film she thought would be great for international viewership, she immediately said Cake.

With her busy schedule, Mahira has made a new resolution to make more time for herself and her son. "I let go of a lot of good projects because I know I need to give time to myself, even after letting go of so many projects I'm still living such a busy life and I want to lessen that load."

She added, "It's difficult to let go of some great things but I have a personal life. I have Azlan and he's growing up real fast. He'll be in the fourth grade soon and he has test weeks and what not coming up and I have to keep all of that in mind when working."

Well a mom's gotta do what a mom's gotta do!

I am more interested in real struggling women who work and also look after their families without much resources or extra help. Those are the real heroes and truly inspirational women.
