Wedding season has taken Bollywood by storm and though FOMO is at an all time high (call us, maybe?) we're quite shamelessly drooling over the gorgeous dresses some of the stars wore to the shaadis of late.

(We know you are too).

And let's be honest, we can't all splurge on a Manish Malhotra for one event when we have a dozen to attend however, we can take style inspiration from the stars.

The latest wedding which brought Bollywood (and Hollywood) out in throngs was the Ambani engagement this week. In case you don't know, it was Mukesh Ambani's son's engagement, he's India's biggest business magnate. No surprise that the events (pre-engagement and engagement) were lavish affairs.

Here's some wedding style inspo we walked away with from the two events.

Gold is the new black

It's all about shining bright like a diamond, without actually looking like you ate one. Alia Bhatt shows us how to turn heads in a sparkling gold lehenga choli. This Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla adds the necessary glam while also looking subtle.

Another example is Mira Rajput who also managed to steal hearts in a Manish Malhotra embellished nude and gold kurta sharara. The gold work on the kurta balances out the plain sharara.

Lehnga choli is here to stay

We don't call it the beach bod, we call it the lehenga choli bod. Shraddha Kapoor's lavender Koecsh ensemble and Alia Bhatt's gold jora are two examples why lehenga choli will always be in.

A saree is always a good idea

Sarees are effortlessly graceful; young or old anyone can pull them off with charm. Seen here, the Devdas divas Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in a sparkly Manish Malhotra saree and Madhuri Dixit in a dust pink floral saree carry the style with elegance.

KISS: Keep it simple, stupid

Whether it's the jewelry or the dress, it's best to go with one option rather than drown yourself in everything. Parineeti Chopra missed the mark in a crop top, sari and dhoti pants. She could take style lessons from her cousin Priyanka Chopra who is a vision in this red Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla saree. The Quantico star lets the minimal accessories, loose waves and the bold colour do all the talking.

Shades to an evening wedding? Please stop

Shades belong at the beach or a day party... not a wedding.

Why should we care when the average man and woman here looks much better than all these "stars"?

the guy in shades is our Jackie Shroff - lovingly called Jaggu Dada by everyone. The man has striking looks and, even at the age of 60 plus, no youngster comes anywhere close. His father was a Gujarati hindu and mother was from Kazakhistan, whose family had migrated to India in 1950s. This guy will look handsome even if he wears Sherwani to swimming pool ! So yes, he will 'stop' at nothing.....
