Wondering why so many celebs have been snapping their fingers on Instagram?

The secret is finally out!

Turns out, they are all playing their part in creating awareness about the importance of following traffic rules, as part of #DriveOnPakistan campaign by Shell Helix Pakistan.

Here are a few safety measures our favourite celebs are pledging to take.

Wear a seat belt while driving

Javed Shiekh and Fahad Mustafa have promised to always wear their seat belts while driving to ensure safety on the roads.

Respect speed limits and stay in your lanes

Ali Azmat has pledged to respect speed limits while driving on the roads. Sanam Jung says it's best to stay in your lane while driving on busier roads.

Keep your phone away

Hania Aamir and Shahid Afridi have promised to keep their phones away while driving to help prevent road accidents.

With the campaign #DriveOnPakistan, these celebs along with Shell Helix Pakistan aim to bring attention towards enabling safer roads in Pakistan.

In return of the peoples' pledges, Shell Helix will paint the speed breakers in various cities of Pakistan to enhance the driving experience for those on the roads.

Let's snap our fingers to call for attention whenever someone breaks a traffic law, and remind them to be responsible.

It would've been nice had they worn their seat belts while the picture was being taken. Nonetheless, great initiative, we need more of this in Pakistan.

This is a good initiative but just wearing seat belt is not enough. It is important to take measures to have a proper plan for drive tests. Now it is just a short knowledge test and driving and reversing car in a track. This does not cover the actual road test as being conducted in many other countries. I think measures should be taken to streamline the process to grant licenses.

@AMMAR To wear seat belts someone needs to act upon education. To seek knowledge and to act upon it latter are two different things. Unfortunately majority of educated are unaware of this truth. The purpose of education is not information but formation.

In Germany and The UK your driving license is as precious as your passport۔ If you do not follow the rules you get fined, get penalty points on your license that means you have to pay more for insurance cuz you are a careless driver and finally if you are still careless then your driving license will be confiscated so no more driving. Even if the adult passenger does not wear the seat belt is find and may also get penalty points. People in Pakistan must pass theory test then driving test and then get their license. In Pakistan normally people manage to get their license without passing the test. Their must be full enforcement of law and you will se results.

Using phones while driving should not be shown in TV dramas.

Keep a safe distance from the car in front of you. Driving over the speed limit can cause accidents. Driver license is a privilege not a right. Texting, calling on cell phone while driving is a distraction and causes accidents. Seat belt saves lives and drivers/ front passengers should be fined if not wearing seat belt. Written test and driving test and proper training is a must.
