Akshay Kumar's latest flick, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha doesn't only have B-Town buzzing with excitement, it seems like Hollywood is also rooting for it.

Grown Ups actor Salma Hayek took to Twitter to wish the B-Town actor good luck for his upcoming film which portrays a social message - India's chronic lack of toilets.

She wrote, "Good luck to Akshay Kumar on 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' out today! End open defecation now! No woman should fear going to the toilet!"

Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is inspired by the true-life tale of one man's battle to build toilets in his village in rural India. He wanted to win back his new wife, whose refusal to live in a house without a toilet won her plaudits in India.

Kumar, who met the Hollywood star at the Global Teachers Prize last year in Dubai, replied:

Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha also features Bhumi Pednekar and Anupam Kher; the film sheds light on the need for sanitisation and the problem of problem of open defecation in India.

Copied from National award winner Tamil movie Joker (2016). Though I don't expect anything more from Bollywood, coming from Akshay Kumar is quite shocking. Believed he's one of the genuine stars in the industry who make meaningful films instead of cheesy improbable romantic movies far fetched from reality as possible. Oh don't forget the so adult "comedies". Akshay you're better than this.

@BALAJI No one ever heard about Tamil movie Joker before even if it got some award. Only because of AK this cause is getting international support.

Great cause. But bad film. Squandered the opportunity to sing praises of the current Indian government. Should keep politics out of entertainment or purposeful cinema.
