Shaan goes to war with Pepsi Battle of the Bands

Shaan goes to war with Pepsi Battle of the Bands

Uh oh yet another thing Shaan Shahid doesn't approve of
25 Jul, 2017

Pepsi's Battle of the Bands has definitely gotten everybody's attention.

The upcoming music show will feature many popular Pakistani stars, including one Fawad Khan who marks his reunion with music on its stage.

While the re-emergence of the show has generally had an enthusiastic reception, the show has one harsh critic... Shaan Shahid.

The Yalghaar actor took to his Facebook to post his opinion about Pepsi Battle of the Bands.

It appears that Shaan did not enjoy the teaser for Battle of the Bands. Or the thought of Battle of the Bands.

But what he seems particularly miffed about is what he perceives to be Pepsi encroaching on Coke's territory.

Why is Shaan taking sides in the upcoming brand wars? Is it all an elaborate PR stunt? Does Shaan really love Coke?

Only time will tell. For now, we just know that Shaan Shahid is not happy.

Images has reached out to Shaan regarding his status and is awaiting a response.

Well they are both equally bad for health and don't even have a single good ingredient. It's time these singers / bands stop promoting harmful products.

This time, It's not a border talk. So, I don't understand the purpose of this post. As far as old songs are concerned, coke studio has also produced a number of old songs with new music themes and singers.

Shaan is right! Don't even try to compete with Coke Studios!

Not a Pepsi fan or a Coke hater but to set the record straight and for Shaan's info: before there was Coke Studio, there was Pepsi Battle of the Bands. And even before that there was Pepsi Top of The Pops, and a lot of other things Pepsi did for music in Pakistan.

without pepsi battle of the bands we wouldn't have aaroh, ep and call. coke's commercialized pop sufi fusion is getting boring now, we want our rock band culture back! the days of indus music when there would be an awesome new band on tv every other month...

I am a coke enthusiast. I would drink Coke over Pepsi anytime. However, to give credit where it's due, the first Internationally recognized Pakistani Pop Music Band Vital Signs was sponsored by Pepsi. We used to enjoy Pepsi Top of The Pops in the 90s. Pepsi really is the pioneer of the Generation NEXT attitude.

It could be an effort to remain vibrant in media since Coke Studio gets overwhelming appreciation. And as Shaan said there is no comparison between Coe & Pepsi. Earlier we have witnessed a failed attempt of Nestle Nescafe's Basement but how many among us are aware of that extravagant move? Coke rocks unquestionably

For those who do not know. Pepsi battle of the bands started way way back. Even before coke studio was thought of. Pepsi has been an ambassador of music culture in Pakistan, supported many music bands for example Vital Signs and Awaaz to name a few. The concept of Coke studio and Pepsi BoB is totally different. Please get a life and let music prosper :)

Shan, You serious must be delusional and so are all the people supporting this post. Pepsi battle of the bands was the first proper music show to come out in Pakistan, which gave us amazing talents such as EP, Aaroh, Mekaal Hasan Band, Shahzad Hameed Project, etc, etc. So Pepsi is not trying to be coke. This is actually a "Band" based show, not a show promoting a series of repetitive list of singers. We miss the band vibe in Pakistan, it's not just about the vocalist and I am glad new and talented bands would get a chance to shine. A lot of us are well aware of the Coke Studio politics, so many talented musicians aren't given a fair chance. Anyways back to the facts, Pepsi Battle Of The Bands came before Coke Studio, both are extremely different platforms.

Well I am laughing at people who are comparing both. Its battle of bands which is quite different from what coke studio. HARD ROCK, thats what I was waiting for. Long before coke studio came PEPSI did it in 2002 with their battle of bands in which Arooh won if any one remembers, I still remember Fawad Khan with EP at that time.

its not that serious, shaan shahid just has a habit of complaining about literally everything. no sense in making more articles about him, itll only give him more attention and encourage him to whine more about random things. next thing you know shaan will be complaining about lahore biryani vs karachi biryani and dawn will still be writing articles about it -_-
