Could your New Year's resolution be the same as a celebrity's?

Images spoke to a bunch of stars and discovered that their hopes for 2017 are a lot like ours — they want to be better versions of themselves, they want to be there for other people and they want to do more for Pakistan.

Read on to find out what the stars are thinking:

Mawra Hocane

It's been a great year but I want to do more of everything; like spread more love, spend more time with my parents, work harder and shine brighter.

Ayesha Omar

I have a whole list!

  1. To start exercising.

  2. To be more mindful and present.

  3. To slow down in life.

  4. To spend more time with people who matter and have good energies.

  5. To get less anxious and stressed about everything (mindfully)

  6. To be kinder to people.

  7. To detox once in a while.

  8. To travel more.

  9. To be closer to nature.

  10. To care less about what people think and stop beating myself up over stupid stuff.

Ahsan Khan

I pledge to spend more time with the underprivileged. That's how I want to start the new year... by spreading positivity and making sure that I make other people happy too!

Meesha Shafi

I am entering 2017 with immense gratitude in advance. This is something I have started doing on a daily basis. Practicing gratitude. I wake up every day and count 10 of my blessings. It shifts the energy of my day into a positive force! Try it!

Adnan Siddiqui

The year 2016 has largely been about losses & suffering. So, my initial thought about 2017 was for a safer & prosperous Pakistan.

That being said, I, Adnan Siddiqui wish to make all my resolutions based on being a Pakistani. I am the nation, so I hope to be more vocal than ever about lack of safety measures by any government/private institution. I, as a citizen, resolve that I will do more about caring for my environment than ever before; I, as a father shall teach my children about our responsibilities as citizens of this country; I, as an artist will play my part in educating people about necessary steps to safeguard their rights; I, as a Pakistani will not let Pakistan suffer more.

2017 is about reconciling Pakistan.

Atiqa Odho

My new year resolution is to avoid wasting my time on irrelevant things that have no impact on society as life is very short and must be valued. 2017 shall be a year for me to focus on efforts for Pakistan that shall hopefully help our economic growth as the country is at a dangerous crossroads and if we aim towards the right values, the potential is great.

Humaima Malik

I believe in aiming for the stars and dreaming big but I also believe in being practical and starting with baby steps.

I've always been an advocate of self-love and improvement and I solemnly believe that every change starts from within and every year I start off by making tiny changes in myself for the better.

This year is no different. 2016 has been a hard year on all of humanity, we have seen new lows, every man has turned against each other and women have faced the brunt of all this chaos. I want 2017 to be a better year for women and I want to play as big or small a part I can. I want to campaign vigorously against honour killings and acid attacks. These are barbaric acts and it's ridiculous how often they occur.

I want to be part of projects that endorse anti-violence against women motives because all I have is my art and my voice and it does impart a huge responsibility on me because with my voice I can reach many. I want to use my voice to speak vehemently against such heinous acts.

Apart from that I want the next year to be about my family as it has always come first and will continue to do so for all years to come.

Faysal Qureshi

Apart from my work, I hope to fulfill my goal of providing equal education to all this year. I'm embarking on this journey with a few of my friends and will try to make substantial progress this year,
