We've waited a long time for this one. The trailer for Hrithik Roshan's upcoming epic saga, Mohenjo Daro is finally here!

The three and a half minute teaser features stunning visual effects, action sequences and even a hint of romance. Watch it here:

Starring Roshan and Pooja Hegde in lead roles, the movie is set in pre-historic Indus Valley, in 2016 BC. The Bang Bang actor takes on the role of a young indigo farmer, Sarman who enters the city and meets Chaani (Hegde) the daughter of the Priest, predicted to be the Origin of a New Society.

Sarman, in his attempt to win Chaani’s love, uncovers the secrets nobody was ever supposed to know – about Chaani, about Mohenjo Daro and about his own past.

Co-written, co-produced and directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, the film is produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Sunita A Gowariker.

Gowariker’s movie took over three years to materialise. He took help from archaeologists who documented the discovery of Indus Valley Civilisation and ultimately, the film was shot in Bhuj and Mumbai with short schedules in Jabalpur and Thane.

Mohenjo Daro is set to release on August 12.

Game of thrones inspired ,really? This director has given us films like Lagaan, swades and jodhaa akbar. His film was nominated for Oscars. Found no connection with GOT,sorry.

They couldn't shoot in Mohenjo Daro but they should have a short documentary at the end about the place as it is today so the audience can connect.

looks good, but you know bollywood has ability infuse bollywoodness in such movies, which totally kill the movie, hope they don't do that this time.

Just watched the trailer. It's as good as a Hollywood movie trailer. Bollywood is certainly progressing fast.

Looks good. Must thank Bollywood for promoting Mohenjo Daro, an ancient cradle of civilisation in what is present day Sindh, Pakistan.

did the writers, producer and director visited Mohenjo Daro in pakistan?? or just took inspiration from books and pictures and made their version of Mohenjo Daro and ancient Indus valley civilization. to my knowledge indus valley and indus river are in pakistan not much in india, even hindu vedas were written in indus valley, aryan invasion and settlement took place only in pakistani land.

Such a pathetic teaser. Expected much from the movie. Hrithik was bearing the same expression throughout it. Don't think he understood that the character lived 2000 years ago.

First, it has nothing to do with Game Of Thrones. Second, to me it just looked like a low-budget 'long's B'wood movie. Tho am eagerly waiting for Baahubali 2, Shivay and a movie on the Immortals of Meluha.

They produced a film about a place and not included a single real shot of the place which made this film nothing but fake assumption, facts and at least not name a movie of place if you didn't even went there.

@jawad Have you forgotten the treatment meted to Kabir Khan? But for the courtesy, Indians(non-muslims) should be the last to come to Pakistan.

Hope it is not a documentary on Mohenjo Daro . Hope there is enough entertainment content in the movie , the way it should be . Documentaries get boring and there are enough on the subject . This will be the first time some one has dared to make it in a feature film format . Great expectations .

Lol!! lots of Haters i know from where they have came:-)Before releasing of Mohanjodaro trailer, no one was interested in History. Now everyone has become research scientist. Before this,so many period films has released but no one tried to do research hahaha Very Funny...Ashutosh Gowariker took over three years to develop the film with the help of archaeologists who documented the discovery of Indus Valley civilization. So he has already created look like environment in movie. So guys stop judging. Its a Movie only...In 2:30-3hrs movie he cant show you all Indus Valley civilization.Every movie has story,in the same way, mohanjodao has story..They have not created History Lecture for the Students, who are preparing for exams..So just chill and enjoy..

i am sure Mohenjo Daro was nothing like the portrayed in this movie. This is Bollywood touch which seems so fake. The ruins of this place are in Pakistan.

@Tayyab are you implying that sci-fi movies like Star Wars should be shot in space?
