Priyanka calls Donald Trump's proposed Muslim ban 'primitive' at Time 100 gala

The fight against domestic terrorism has grown so complex that “you can’t put a face on it anymore,” added Chopra
27 Apr, 2016

Priyanka Chopra had something to say at the Time 100 Gala last night and it didn't bode well for Donald Trump.

The Quantico star, who graced the cover of Time Magazine's Most Influential 100 issue, and was included in the list along with icons like Sania Mirza, Taylor Swift, Barack Obama and more, said of Trump's proposal to 'ban' Muslims from America: “I just think you can’t put a ban on anyone. Generalizing a type of people is really primitive.”

The fight against domestic terrorism has grown so complex that “you can’t put a face on it anymore,” she added.

Chopra has previously been vocal about how her role in Quantico (where she plays an FBI agent) has been a breakthrough for non-mainstream artists. In a video interview with Time, she says of Quantico: "When was the last time you saw an FBI agent with a hijab, you know? When was the last time you saw an Indian girl who is the headline of a show and the same time so unapologetic and bold and brazen, and not a doctor or a nerd or a computer scientist?"

Priyanka also broke the mould on the red carpet last night as she chose to wear a white pantsuit rather than a long gown (though wearing an Indian designer would've worked too).

We love this superstar for voicing these opinions on her big night while celebrating yet another accomplishment.

For some stray incidents of domestic militancy, one,be Donald Trump, cannot blame & ban the whole community.Ms Chopra has rightly voiced the alarming views of right-thinking persons. But does American opinion reflects it.I think not.See how Trump is sweeping Republican votes, far away from his nearest contender & most likely on his way to get Republican nomination.Afraid of imagining what will happen to the said community in case he is elected as President.May God help America.

I feel her views completely syncs with ethos, values , multi-diverse cultural and religious ethnic society of India which in turn by foundation nurtured her thought process like almost all Indians. But don't forgot, right wing 'Black Sheeps' are there in every society and that i feel is required as well to create balance between 'Right', 'Left' and 'Center'.

Donald Trump is more than likely to be the next US President. He & his merry men have made a note of what this Indian actress has said. India is in trouble now. She will have to grovel for a visa to work in the US next time.

Political statements have destroyed the careers of music groups and artistes that are far far bigger and stronger than you in their own HOME countries. You're in a foreign country. Stay away from political statements. Focus on your job, sweetheart!!!
