7 celebrities who could have looked better at the Oscars

7 celebrities who could have looked better at the Oscars

While we're riding high on the wave of Sharmeen and Leo's win, let's not forget the red carpet losers.

Clichés are clichés for a reason -- they're true and you know what they say: save the best for last.

As award season wraps up, The 88th Annual Academy Awards happened in Tinseltown today. While the Oscars are all about celebrating talent and the best of film, we also had our eyes glued to the red carpet, where the real drama happens.

Block colours, strapless gowns and lots of embellishments made an appearance this year and although Jennifer Lawrence, Naomi Watts and Lady Gaga slayed (and by slayed, we mean just narrowly escaped the worst-dressed list), other attendees left us disappointed.

Only wish Naomi Watts would have skipped the neck bling

Here are some of this year's unfortunate sartorial choices, based off the reactions of audience members and the Images staff:

Heidi Klum: supermodel or a bridesmaid from the 90s?

Speaking of the 90s, have you seen Brie Larson's prom dress from then?

At some point, she's really going to regret wearing this dress on the watershed moment in her life when she bagged an Oscar

Buckle up because you're going to almost fall out of chair when you see the Versace horror Freida Pinto wore.

The belt, the too-small cups, the belt... all wrong.

Priyanka Chopra's Zuhair Murad number did her Baywatch-ready bod no favours; it created folds of skin where none existed before

Piggy Chops should consider taking some style advice from Sonam Kapoor perhaps — that bodice is a size too small!

Versace was a repeat offender: Tina Fey, who was clad in a purple dress from the label, always knows how to make people laugh, sometimes unintentionally through her style choices.

Outdated jewels and too much kohl don't help her case either

Kerry Washington wore a 50 Shades of Grey kinda waist trainer on top and paired it with a chiffon bottom. Weird.

That's Kerry on the left ten years from now, looking back at this outfit mortified.

Kate Winslet ran out of clothes so she wore a garbage bag instead, a Ralph Lauren garbage bag, mind you.

Oscar nominee Cate Blanchett was channelling her inner Elsa from Frozen.

Actually, on second tought, Elsa's dress was better.

Better luck next year, ladies.

Jennifer Lawrence looked out of this world. How dare you questioned her fashion choice?

Why this prejudice? According to most networks PC was one one of the best dressed and second most searched (on the web).

We finally agree on something, dear Images! Serious dearth of classiness on red carpet this year. Very prom-like and 'tacky'. I wouldn't have given Jennifer Lawrence a pass, though. That dress reminds me of Helena Botham Carter, whom i love, love as a person/actor, but really pass on the style. It's meh. Replace her with Tina fey, whose dress is boring but tolerable sans necklace. Also, what happened to Blanchett?

Right on with Chopra's wardrobe debacle. I can't even look right at it. The needless display of armpit flab, constricted upper-body, it looks uncomfortable and painful. And she is so so beautiful, as a fan i think she deserves better. I am just morally outraged at the 'dress-fitting authority' in the West! They dressed Winslet in a garbage bag for crying out loud! Not every actor around the planet is stick-like. Some are curvier and more beautiful for it. Next time just give PC a freaking size up!
