Expect lots of gunshots, explosions and high-speed car chases in SRK-Kajol's next
10 Nov, 2015

Just when we thought we were done hyperventilating over the teaser trailer from last week, the makers of Dilwale unveiled the official trailer for the upcoming Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol flick.

And if you were expecting a run-of-the-mill happy-go-lucky rom-com, think again!

In true Rohit Shetty 'go big or go home' fashion, the trailer is peppered with ample action, high-speed car chases, explosions and drama.

Shah Rukh Khan's character seems like a cross between Don and Raj from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayege – one minute, he's shooting someone and the next shot is of him dancing with Kajol in breathtaking Iceland.

He's obviously tough, but he's also sentimental and evidently has some demons he's battling from his dark past that are seeping their way into his present.

While we're super excited to have the iconic SRK-Kajol reunite on the big screen, we're also really looking forward to watching budding superstar, Varun Dhawan hold his own among this impressive cast. Although the trailer is a little all over the place, we can deduce that Dhawan and Khan will be playing brothers in the movie – now, that's a bromance we're rooting for!

The over three minute long trailer ends with SRK saying to Kajol: "Meera, aaj ke baad mujhay apna chehra mat dikhana -- jaan le loo ga."

Clearly, the similarities between DDLJ and Dilwale end at the movie title.

Dilwale has a stellar supporting cast, which includes Boman Irani, Vinod Khanna, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra and others, presumably to add comic relief in an otherwise intense story. The movie is slated for release on 18 December this year.

And can we just take a moment to appreciate how Kajol looks like she hasn't aged a day?

they keep making idiocy and people keep buying this idiocy - Pakistan had a golden opportunity to revive the film industry and maybe follow Hollywood's blue print of mature serious cinema but alas they also resorted to Bollywood like item numbers. but people like Bilal Lashari and Jami give me hope. I don't understand how and why people would pay for this - nothing against India - its just formula masala cinema that i oppose.

Copy, paste, rehash, rehash....and more. Indian cinema is not innovating. It's mutating.

Dear Pakistani Brothers - Plesse dont spend your hard earned movie on these boring, repetative Bollywood cinema. These stars are overated where 50 year old tries to act middle aged. If you must watch then watch it on TV few days later.

@Band NV Your views constitute one way of looking at things. But generally people go to a movie to remain engaged for three hours in something light-hearrted. I enjoyed Happy New Year for its spectacle and for its turns and twists. I also enjoyed Kahani, which was serious. But I would anyday prefer a movie that may throw logic to the winds and yet entertain rather than a serious story that, after three hours, sends you out a somber-faced man lost in ideas. Of course views differ, and your view makes much logic too.

@Band NV Actually Hollywood too produces routine formula movies in its own level. Transformers, Fast and Furious and lots of comic hero movies are formula based movies just to entertain people. And Indian movies also have serious movies, and reality based movies. They do lack the budget and technicality of Hollywood, but people are same every where. Majority just want entertainment. If Pakistan doesnt produce more entertainment through movies, then it will have tough time surviving. Movies from only one genre is not good for industry.

Bollywwod lacks creativity...and unfortunately taking a toll on regional cinema in India...if it werent for my travelling job i never would have appreciated the beauty of marathi and bengali cinema....the stories...the direction the actors are class apart and are the lifeline of these movies not some cheap item song and overboard lyrics with underdressed women

Most of our movies are sheer crap There is no two ways about it. But then movies are what the audience wants them to be. We are like that only ....

To each his own. Don't like it, don't watch it. Like it, go watch it. Really that simple. They are popular for a reason, regardless of whom they are popular with!

Gaddama (A poor hindu lady's struggle as a maid in Saudi Arabia)3.Aadaminte makan Abu (A muslim man and wife working towards going for hajj against all odds)4.Drushyam(a crime thriller)5.Usthad hotel(A must see)6Chaandu pottu (a man who is confused with his sexuality)7.Mumbai police(suspense thriller)8.Perariyathavar(people only call certain others by their profession.for eg shoe repair wallah gaadi waalah etc)9.Ennu Moytheente Kanchanamala(a true love story between a Muslim and Hindu in mid 20th century )-a must see.If you like historical stories try Urumi(Vasco da Gama's arrival to India). and Pazhassi Raja ( An exciled King's struggle against british) .I can suggest a hundred more if you like.

Movies always don't need to be a make belive one with glitter glamour .Heros and heroines dont need to be extremely beautiful or talented Villain need ot be a bad person. It can be even be a corrupt system with good people. So on and so forth

@kuttathi Wish I could understand the language....would love to see all these movies. For me it can be any genre, any story purely entertainment or serious but it has to be good cinema. There r only 2 types actually good , honest and a well made movie and if its not then its bad cinema.
