Karachiites rejoice as the city of lights goes live on Snapchat!

The popular smartphone app recently also featured Pakistan on Independence Day
Updated 05 Nov, 2015

We were angry when Delhi got a chance before us, we were furious when even Bombay beat us to it.

However, it's our time now. Finally, the people of Karachi have gotten a chance to tell their story on their own terms -- on Snapchat!

Karachi is being featured on the popular photo-sharing app's City Life Series today. Videos of people enjoying a rickshaw ride, having street food like parathas and dhabbay ki chai, shots of Gulf Shopping Centre and Frere Hall have been featured so far, amongst other things.

Understandably, everyone is super excited.

You have till midnight to get your 10 seconds of fame so get snapping!

@Saeed Masood Karachi hasn't changed a bit since you left in 1968. You must visit it again to see for yourself what a wonderful visual treat it is. Its probably the best melting pot of cultures and a colourful kaleidoscope. NOT.

If Shah Rukh Khan says, "There is extreme intolerance in India", still great master like Ghulam Ali Khan should give it a try, provided of course his personal security is assured like Pakistan did in the case of a "blackened" and humiliated Indian, from Bombay. Mostly Indians are brave and supportive! Both the countries should live in peace.

I live in a small village in rawalpindi district my family occupation is farming. i have dream of going to Karachi one day but my father says it is a big city with modern people who wear jeans, drive big cars, live in mansions and have alot of money and they don't like village people. He says i don't fit in at all and i can easily get lost in the city like many people from my village who went to karachi for better life but didn't return. I think will never get lost i am well educated i will get my bachelor in economics next year and i want to be somebody i don't want to do farming like my family is been doing forever, farmers don't make alot of money . Karachi is a big city with alot of job opportunities. I love karachi i am dying to goto karachi i want to see the ocean.
