JPNA trailer: A hackneyed story of henpecked husbands?

The film follows a forever-cliched plot and appears to have copied popular comedy films like 'Hangover' and 'Masti'.

Director Nadeem Baig’s Jawaani Phir Nahi Aani’s first look got Hamza Ali Abbasi in hot waters but the second trailer is cleverly done to save the actor from further troubles. The trailer might save Hamza but it surely can’t save the film which is now far more predictable than its last teaser.

Shot in Bangkok, JPNA has a star cast with names like Humayun Saeed, Ahmad Ali Butt, Vasay Chaudhry, Mehwish Hayat, Suhai Abro, Ayesha Khan, Sarwat Gillani, Javed Sheikh and Bushra Ansari. But surprisingly even the cast doesn’t manage to create an anticipation for the much talked about film ─ during which Humayun also met an accident.

Gauging from the trailer, the film revolves around three married friends, Ahmad, Vasay and Hamza who are in despair because of their domineering wives played by Uzma, Sarwat and Aisha. The three try to escape their miseries by going on a trip with their bachelor friend, Humayun, who ends up falling for Mehwish Hayat and ultimately wants to get married too.

It’s safe to say that the film which appeared to be following American trilogy Hangover has, in many ways, replicated famous Bollywood comedy Masti starring Vivek Oberoi, Ritesh Deshmuk and Aftab.

The film does have its funny moments, as viewers may chuckle at jokes like ‘MA’ used for ‘Masha Allah’. After dancing her heart out in Wrong Number, Suhai has definitely improved her moves as she dances to a ‘Shaadi’ number in the film.

The film is slated to release in Pakistan, India, UK, US, Australia and Middle East on Eidul Azha.
