Days after 11 coal miners belonging to the Shia Hazara community sleeping in their room, were held at gunpoint, blindfolded and trussed up before being executed by unidentified attackers in the Mach coal field area in the early hours of Sunday morning, the country is still in shock.

Protesting the ordeal of minorities and urging authorities to compensate and share their pain, Prime Minister Imran Khan was requested to show up at the sit-in.

“We will not bury our loved ones until Prime Minister Imran Khan personally meets the mourners,” Majlis Wahdat-i-Muslimeen (MWM) leader Syed Agha Raza said, adding that the mourners would not compromise on the blood of the coal miners.

In return, the Prime Minister once again appealed to the Hazara community to bury those killed in the attack in Balochistan's Mach area, calling on them to refrain from "blackmailing the premier," promising he would be there for them.

This did not sit well with the public and many, including the Baari singer Momina Mustehsan have urged Imran Khan to reconsider his stance.

"Honorable Prime Minister, all eyes are on you," Momina began, as she posted a note on Twitter for the world to see.

"The entire nation is well aware of the persecutions faced by the Hazara community, for far too long. They are one of us and we are one of them. It is crucial to show solidarity at this hour — regardless of the conspiracies, those responsible and those trying to politicize," she went on to remind the former cricket champ.

"As our Premier, we implore you to reconsider your stance. Please do not wait for them to bury their deceased, they need your shoulder to cry on," Momina reiterated.

Wishing those grieving, patience, and sending them our love.

Imran is one of a kind. He will already be in the Hazara community and back by now. The only concern was not to make this horrific event be used to sabotage all sacrifices made thus far since further politicisation of the calamity would benefit the enemies of the state.

@hassan Wrong question? What can he do about it? They don’t need IKs shoulder or just a promise, but solid action to anticipate, predict, interdict and eliminate terrorism against ALL citizens of Pakistan regardless of their religion, sect, or ethnicity. Hold Pakistan’s military and law enforcement agency responsible for every act of terrorism. With every option available to him, it is nothing but incompetence and in aptitude

Think with your head, leave this emotional single-sided world view behind and speak constructively. Goes for all those creating a narrative that the PM of Pakistan does not know what he needs to do. Let the man do his job the way it is supposed to be done, not how you expect him to do it.

@hassan if he knew his moral duties there would be no need for people to remind him. Our PMIK entered politics with beautiful pure intentions but once he was inside he has slowly abandoned them in favor of the agenda his political allies. It is speaking volumes that our minorities are not safe for decades. Appealing for help is construed as blackmail! what kind of leader can not see the pain of fellow Pakistanis? Women, minorities, poor... They are all left fendning for themselves. What good is leader and government when it's all talk but no action? Yes we know Rome was not built in one night but we have had 3 years. No change. Just worsening. Elite and the rich people don't feel this. But average person does.

@Laila that’s all well and good. But remember that an honest leader like him will not grace Pakistanis for decades again, maybe longer. He’s of the same ilk as Pres. JFK and Abraham Lincoln (in the US) in terms of his concern for the people. The example of the current lot in the US in plainly obvious to all now. While the masses and the corrupt mafia dynasties of Sharif and Zardari berate him for not ‘parsing’ his tweets better, he’s done more for the country in 2.5 years than these corrupt scions did in nearly half a century or for Karachi (country’s financial hub and powerhouse) for that matter.
