Bradley Cooper sings his heart out in new A Star Is Born trailer
Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga falling in love in the first trailer of A Star Is Born is all the feels we needed to get rid of our midweek blues.
Cooper, who is making his directorial debut with the upcoming flick, stars as veteran singer Jackson Maine and man, can he sing! Gaga plays a shy, struggling artist named Ally whose got a bad case of stage fright; this marks the singer's first leading role in a major motion picture.
“I don’t sing my own songs,” she tells Cooper. “I just don’t feel comfortable. Almost every single person has told me that they liked the way I sounded, but they didn’t like the way I looked.”
"I think you’re beautiful,” says a smitten Cooper.
The film co-stars Sam Elliott, comedian Dave Chappelle, and Andrew Dice Clay. Lady Gaga wrote a number of original songs for the film with Cooper and other artists, including Lukas Nelson, Jason Isbell and Mark Ronson, the studio said.
A Star is Born is a 1937 classic about an emerging actress who dreams of stardom and her love affair with an established Hollywood actor who is on the path to self-destruction. The film has already had two remakes in 1954 (where it got turned into a musical drama) and 1976 where Barbara Streisand took the lead.
The film hits theaters on October 5, 2018.
