Here's another feather in Salman Khan's cap.

The Bollywood actor received a Global Diversity Award on Friday at Britian's House of Commons; he was presented the award by Keith Vaz, British Parliament’s longest-serving Asian MP.

According to Indian Express, Vaz shared: "The Global Diversity Award is given to people of immense stature in terms of what they have done for diversity in the world, and he is certainly one of them."

He added, that Khan was "not just a megastar for Indian and world cinema, but also someone who has done so much for humanitarian causes."

Salman, who runs the Being Human NGO, said, "Thank you for the respect and honour you have given me."

The actor is currently in Britain for his Dabangg tour, which will also feature celebrities such as Sonakshi Sinha, Jacqueline Fernandez, Prabhudheva and Sooraj Pancholi among others.

Sir This unknown award gives more prominence to the awarding body than the recipient !!! The British parliamentarians are fast losing their credibility by wasting their time on such useless ceremonies rather than solving issues with National health services. Thanks

Diversity? This is a piece of satire journalism right? What diversity has he contributed to other than doing hammed roles in Bollywood?

The 'Golden Blackbuck' would have been more appropriate name for this award.

A useless award being given to a useless person by a useless MP who was recently caught for sexual impropriety involving 'rent boys'!

Salman Khan a towering human being, philanthropist helping dozens of film industry greats of the past and others who are in financial strife in old age. Mubarak Begum comes to mind. Salman was virtually the only person from the Hindi film industry who was helping Mubarak begum family financially on a sustained, long-term basis. He had been paying the full costs of all medicines required by the elderly lady. Great to know this.
