Bradley Cooper has decided to venture into directing, and has cast Lady Gaga as his lead actor.

According to Deadline, the Hangover actor will be directing the remake of A Star is Born and will also be starring in it alongside the Oscar nominated singer.

Here's a trailer of the 1937 original in case you missed it (You missed it didn't you?):

Warner Bros president of Creative Development and WW Production Greg Silverman has given the green signal on the film and production will start next year.

According to Silverman, "For those of us lucky enough to watch him work as an actor and producer, it has been clear that Bradley would make this transition to director.”

He adds, “We are honored that he is doing it, here, at his home—Warner Bros.—and with Lady Gaga as a collaborator and co-star. The world is in for a treat as these great artists craft an all new vision of A Star is Born.”

Gaga has already acted in FX's hit show American Horror Story and has made appearances in Machete Kills and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. She will also be composing and performing the music for the film.

A Star is Born is a 1937 classic about an emerging actress who dreams of stardom and her love affair with an established Hollywood actor who is on the path to self-destruction. The film has already had two remakes in 1954 (where it got turned into a musical drama) and 1976 where Barbara Streisand took the lead.

How will Cooper and Gaga fare in remake number four? Time will tell!

She will do well. She is very smart, very talented and easy to work with. She is a genuinely nice person. With her fan base she will be a star. This film will do well at the box office.
