Verna is cleared for screening in the UK with no cuts

The film releases internationally in the US, UK and Australia on schedule tomorrow
Updated 16 Nov, 2017

While the fate of Shoaib Mansoor's Verna remains unclear in Pakistan, the film appears to be set for release in cinemas tomorrow internationally.

According to an entry on the website of British Board of Film Classification (BBFC), the film has been approved for screening with no cuts.

The BBFC made note of Verna's scenes of rape and strong threats and has given the film a rating of 15, which means the film is suitable only for 15 years and over

Sounds fair enough.

Hum Films' PR team confirmed that the film is releasing internationally on schedule.

In the US and Canada, an online survey of cinema showtimes confirms this.

Verna is playing in Canada tomorrow at the following venues: Cineplex Cinemas Courtney Park, Cineplex Cinemas Strawberry Hill and York Cinemas.

Similarly, in the US, Verna is running at multiple cinemas, including several AMC screens.

The film is also said to be releasing in seven Australian cities, as well as France and Denmark.

We Indians and Pakistanis are hypocrites. We see everything, do anything, but never accept. Be it Padmavati or Verna, movie deserves to be released without any sort of fear.

@Mohd. atta: Absolutely. Rather, in today's connected world, the film which gets censored is likely to get more viewership than normally it would. Trust me none of the guys who are protesting against Padmavati has seen the film. For a nation to develop, we first have to develop our minds, GDPs can wait.

Now it will be awarded for Nobel peace prize and Oscars. Just you wait and see. Another faux pas made by Pakistani government which is eagerly made ready to be exploited by international governments. Need to be more diplomatic than hard headed. It's internet age PSFB!

Why is it that almost every movie coming out of Pakistan has same old faces like Mahira Khan, Humayon Saeed. When will we become a society of merit ? Give other folks a chance, there must be a lot of talent in a population of 180 mil. The movie industry of the 70s was destroyed partly because of favoritism and cronyism. Same thing is still happening. If we continue on this path, we can never catch up to others, let alone be ahead of others.

@be fair verna lead is Mahira khan, with new cast, she is a top talent , and has a international following. Humayun saeed has new cast with him. These two artists have always supported new talents. They are not in all the movies released. Verna is a important film, looking forward to watching this movie , finally pak has an actress that is at the same level as other south Asian actress in beauty and talent! Thus, your comments appears to be based on jealousy ,very transparent!
