Irrfan Khan's upcoming film Hindi Medium was reportedly brought to an indefinite halt due to the casting of Pakistani actor Saba Qamar, but turns out the news was false.

Gulf News rectified the reports by publishing the official statement released on behalf of the Indian actor.

"Irrfan is currently putting all his efforts and focus on his next [films] with Tanuja Chandra and Homi Adajania. As for the question of any of his films being stalled is not true. He has wrapped up shooting for all his films with no pending schedules left for any.”

News of the film being postponed made headlines earlier due to the ongoing heat between Pakistan and India on the culture front.

Hindi Medium revolves around the lives of a middle-class couple settled in Chandni Chowk, Delhi. Saba plays Irrfan's imposing and chirpy wife. The film is slated to release in 2017.

Me too. I also hope that this film and other Indian films are not released in Pakistan. Pakistan should develop its own media and film industry that reflects its own culture and traditions.
