12 looks from bridal week that we'd actually wear

A peshwas from Muse and a gold jora from Sania Maskatiya are a couple of looks that make the cut

PFDC Loreal Bridal Week has come and gone, leaving winter brides spoiled for choice.

What caught our eye? Ghararas come back in a big way this wedding season, and we see lots of encouragement for the dulhan-to-be to get adventurous with her colour choices.

We can't snap up all these beautiful joras (we're not #AnushMunib), so here's a shortlist of our favourites.

Nikkah

Nearly every bride favours white for her Nikkah, but there's no rule that says this has to be case. For the bride who just wants to toe the line, this light blue Zara Shahjahan sharara gown imbues just the slightest wash of colour, which is never a bad thing when it's your big day!

We love it when a traditional silhouette makes a comeback. Muse strews its signature chunky pearls across the peshwas and lets jewelled peacocks/storks take centre stage on the jora. Something for the bride who wants to have a bit of fun with her outfit.

Sania Maskatiya switches up this pretty standard gold jora with the peacock design on the hemline, giving the bride's admirers something to gaze at.

Mehendi

This citrusy Saira Shakira ensemble does big beautiful florals right. The surprising additions to the dupatta and sharara makes this jora quite the head-turner. A mehendi bride might won't to pare down the embroidery if she wants to bust a move on the dance floor, though.

This olive gharara set is like a vintage-y throwback to the times our mothers tied the knot. We half-expected a kiran-edged dupatta to complete the look, but perhaps the modern upgrade in the form of a light-weight net dupatta is a good thing for the bride. The Nomi Ansari jora still oozes old-world charm.

Why stick to one colour when you can wear three? The House of Kamiar Rokni makes the vibrant triad work.

Barat

If you can't picture yourself getting married without the classic red jora, this angarkha-farshi gharara/sharara combo from The House of Kamiar Rokni is such a refreshing change in silhouette that it's sure to set you apart from all the other scarlet-clad brides we'll see come shaadi season.

Here's another option for those who must wear red. This Kamiar Rokni ensemble plays with lots of colour but makes sure the scarlet shirt takes centre stage.

Turn the choli into a traditional sharara/shirt and you have a winner jora for barat day. And we think big blossoms may be a trend this season.

Valima

This one's for the daring bride. Eschew the pastel palette and wear a striking colour, like this inky gharara set from The House of Kamiar Rokni.

Crushing on this Sania Maskatiya jora for its metallic pink hue.

We'd reconsider the sleeve length on this one though.

What's this fascination with peacocks in clothes? The person is getting married and not going to the zoo. Any ways, beautiful , luxurious dresses.

What a waste of money on dresses that don't even cover the body per Islam.
