Sonam Kapoor signs contract with Hollywood talent agency

Is she the latest Bollywood starlet set to make a mark overseas?
01 Sep, 2016

Sonam Kapoor's achievements in Bollywood are countless and now she's heading full-on to Hollywood.

After her riveting performance in Neerja this year, it comes as no surprise that the Bollywood star has been signed by Hollywood talent agency United Talent Agency (UTA) in Los Angeles, reported Vogue India.

The company, which boasts clients like Chris Brown, Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie and Benedict Cumberbatch to name a few, will now be representing Sonam Kapoor.

Earlier this year, when she was in LA, there was hoopla surrounding her trip to the US, that 'daddy dearest' had pulled strings to get her a deal in Hollywood, but Sonam laid all those rumours to rest with a tweet.

The actor is one of the most diverse stars in Bollywood; she is the only Bollywood star to launch her own app, where she shares her style tips and tricks with fans and gives them a glimpse into her life.

Sonam will next be seen in Veere Di Wedding alongside Kareena Kapoor. It's being co-produced by her sister Rhea Kapoor.

Let's get this straight. Sonam is nowhere near as talented as Priyanka Chopra, and nowhere near as intelligent. Kareena is wise enough to stay away from Hollywood, not because she's not a good actress but somewhere she recognizes that making it into Hollywood requires serious energy and talent. Priyanka is a rare rare actress who has that energy and she has worked damn hard to prove her mettle as a singer and actor in U.S. And Priyanka has her mind in the right place. Sonam will only make a fool of herself.
