Happy Bhaag Jayegi could have been Fawad Khan's film

The actor was the first choice for Abhay Deol's character
Updated 11 Aug, 2016

Here's another Fawad Khan rumour.

According to producer Krishika Lulla, the actor was the first choice for Abhay Deol's role in Happy Bhag Jayegi, the Momal Sheikh rom-com that comes out on August 19.

So, why didn't he make the cut?

"We were contemplating it, but it was a long [time] back. Yes, we did think of him but at that time Fawad was doing something else and his dates were not there," said Lulla in an interview.

So the filmmakers instead cast Abhay Deol, who "loved the script".

"He is very choosy about his projects. It's the content that got Abhay and Diana Penty together for the film and we have Pakistani actors also. It was a good experience," added Lulla.

His character Bilal is a Pakistani man and his co-actor Momal has been helping him out with his Urdu, the actress shared in another interview.

Happy Bhag Jayegi is written and directed by Mudassar Aziz. Releasing on August 19, it also stars Diana Penty and Ali Fazal.

The simple fact remains, the Pakistani males can't play a lead hero role where, the market is Indian (The Indian distributor will not purchase the film). Ever heard an Indian in main role in Hollywood (Unless the script demands a brown boy)... Lastly, the Indian film industry is such a family affair that you would be surprised that most of the leading actors are related to each other(Kapoors, Chopras, Hashmi,Bhatt, Sagar, dhawan, Devgun,Khans, kumars...etc)

@سے Shaam Things will gradually change. Had Fawad been able to make some room for this movie, the producers would have had him on board. And remember producers are not stupid. They would not let their money tank with the movie.

@سے Shaam Yes, a Doctor's son is attracted to be a doctor and lawyer's son a lawyer, a politician's son a politician and an actor's son an actor. Having said that it is not true that only kids from film families succeed. Among presently successful heroes and heroines the following have no filmy background: Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Ranveer Singh, Siddharth Malhotra, Ayushman Khurana, Sushant Singh Rajput, Aishwarya Rai, Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu, Vidya Balan, Dipika Padukone, Anushka Sharma, Asin, Jacueline Fernandes, Parineeti Chopra. On the other hand Rajesh Khanna and Dimple's daughter Rinke Khanna did not succeed. Salim Khan's son and Salman Khan's brother did not succeed. Dharmendra and Hema Malini's daughter Esha Deol did not succeed. Tanuja's daughter, Nutan's niece, KAjol's sister and Ajay Devgan's sister in law Tanisha did not succeed.

@سے Shaam you have a big misconception that Bollywood is all family affairs. Not everyone is in relation. Go check your facts before claiming something. Other than Salman Khan, Amair Khan and Kapoors not everyone is related. I am not sure where you read that Hashmi and Kumar have family in bollywood. Also if you know someone in the industry does not make you a superstar. May be you will get break but not the success. And Fawad has already passed that stage. He is already a mainstream hero in the Bollywood without having any connections. But his success will depend on his script selection, his talent and his fan following.

@سے Shaam - " Ever heard an Indian in main role in Hollywood" Well. Hollywood does not require male actors trying to dance only to make a fool of themselves. Hollywood, mostly requires acting skills which automatically disqualifies most Indian actors.

Just kick these Pakistanis out of India and send back to Pakistan so that they can rally for Kashmir cause.
