No room for Sunny Leone's item number in Mahira Khan's Raees?

No room for Sunny Leone's item number in Mahira Khan's Raees?

Sources say that the Pakistani cut of the film won't feature the song because it's too risque

Raees filmmakers appear to have little doubt that Mahira Khan alone can pull in big crowds in the Pakistani box office.

According to a report in Asian Age, the film producers have decided to release Mahira's Bollywood debut in Pakistan, without the item number performed by Sunny Leone in the film. Leone is said to have danced with SRK on a faster version of the '80s classic 'Laila O Laila' in the sequence.

The reason for this cut?

"The makers feel that Sunny’s sequence may be a little risque for the Pakistani audience," a source disclosed, adding that “Raees has a deep Pakistan connection. The film’s leading lady Mahira Khan is from Pakistan and the protagonist is a Muslim businessman."

The source added that the item song was a late addition to the film's script, written in for some extra masala in the project:

“Everyone from Shah Rukh, to director Rahul Dholakia and producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani felt that the film needed that sizzling number, that tadka. And that’s how Sunny Leone came into the picture.”

Raees is an action thriller starring Shah Rukh Khan as a bootlegger and Mahira Khan as his wife. Directed by Rahul Dholakia of Lamhaa fame, the film will release on January 26, 2017.

It will be a flop movie anyhow!! SRK is doing same kind of movie over the years. Whereas salaman, Akshay and Ajay Devgan have been doing variety of roles!! They accept challenge to do any role whereas SRK is afraid to take that challenge

Hahaha..."too risqué for Pakistan" So you think if you remove the song from film, no Pakistani will ever try to watch the song through other mediums? Ek se ek Dramebaaz !

Sunny Leone is disgusting, with no talent of acting, just skin show, struggling and surviving with B-grade movies.

@I speak truth Otherwise, the Censor Board will not allow its release in Pakistan at all and you would miss the whole movie itself. No dramebaazi! Not everyone in Pakistan has 'other' mediums.

@I speak truth you are too stupid to understand the logic, there is something called family entertainment which all the members of a family can sit together and enjoy whereas as a sunny leone's item number is not for families to watch together. I am seriously under the impression that family values are fast vanishing in india which is not a good sign.

@I speak truth i seriously doubt ur intelligence, watching porn in private is similar to watch the same in cinema??? here brother sisiters, sisters in law brother in law watches a movie in theater, and there people will feel uncomfortable watching sunny leone semi nude songs sitting besides their family, India and Indian had a rich culture in times of Qayamat se Qayamat tak, but u have identity crises now, it is fine that u can atch it with ur mother but do not be surprise or ask us to do the same. we still have values.

I don't think it would be risky to have Leone's item number, I mean she's a lot more famous than that female lead of that movie.

Nice to see Bollywood directors being sensitive to local sentiments though there may be commercial reasons for it as Pakistan is one of the biggest markets for Bollywood after India.

@Waqas Ahmed No. After India, the biggest markets for Bollywood movies are USA, UAE and UK in that order.
