3 reasons why Shah Rukh Khan won't work in Hollywood

Here's one Bollywood actor who doesn't have Hollywood on his mind

Here's one Bollywood actor who doesn't have Hollywood on his mind.

While he's all praise for the Priyankas and Deepikas who are making their mark in the US film industry - he thinks they're "fantastic" - SRK doesn't see himself following suit. In an interview with Hindustan Times, he explains why.

1- "I don't think I'm good enough"

Call it false modesty or harsh self-criticism, but SRK insists that "I don’t think I’m good enough [for Hollywood".

2- "I'm very shy"

The 50-year-old actor also shared he's only comfortable when working with people he knows. “I’m very shy," he admits. "Even the people I work with on films have to be my friends. I get very awkward around new people.”

He went on to add, “I get impressed by those [actors] who go out and speak in a different language, on a set in another country, and do well. That’s fantastic. But I get scared.”

3- He'd rather make an Indian film with global appeal

What SRK really wants to do is help Indian cinema grow.

"I’m a patriotic person. I’ve always wanted to do something great for Indian cinema, but not as an actor; that is not greatness. I wanted to work something out, where Indian cinema would gain from what I’ve done, like VFX, etc,” he said.

He also hopes to make a Bollywood film that's enjoyed all over the world. “I feel that even at this stage of my career, I may become part of a film, which may be loved internationally, but is made in India. It would be something like a Life Is Beautiful (1997). I may not act in it, but I want to make a film like that,” he says.

Yes, you are not 'good enough'. Some of your acting is so poor, it makes you chuckle! Stick to Bollywood.

Ya so many years and no national award. Your acting is typical to a particular genre which you have outgrown years ago but you still continue flogging the dead horse. Move on to quality Mr. Khan.

Point no.1 is what we are trying to say, even for bollywood movies for you. SRK should move to Telugu cinema. to make new market.

I can do a piece on five reasons on why no director in Bollywood would touch Shah Rukh Khan with a bargepole.

He's got a vision of how he wants to go down in history. And he has introduced a lot of new things to Bollywood, like a special effects superhero movie. Albeit a flop, the function of the project was to introduce a few things into mainstream Bollywood. Also, for the people thinking that he can't get a role in Hollywood are really out of touch with cinema, be it Indian or American. SRK is a star, and a patriotic one.

Am i only one who think new generation actors (Ranbir,Ranveer,Sushant rajput,Ayushman,Rajkumar Rao,Vicky Kaushal,Dhanush -south indian) are far more talented than big Khans and Kumar?

Watched him on TOIFA awards last night in Dubai. He was sweating profusely after a dance routine. He admitted he has never won an award, while announcing the winners of other awards. Perhaps it is because there are better actors, more deserving than yourself??

Every time he travels to US, they will body search him for being Khan. Won't like to be groped like a thief. Better to work in India where he is treated like a god.

SRK , stick to song and dance routine , a product enjoyed by millions of Indians, you sell the dreams and they buy it. In Hollywood , you might get a chance to get a minor role but no chance to play a major role.

I still remember bunking school to watch his movies and using his dialogues and style to propose or make friendship with girls. He is very popular. I for one want to thank Mr. Khan for his movies have given us so much inspiration. Just one example: In most of his movies shot abroad he made us proud to be an Indian even if we were no where close to US or Europe. What Modi is doing now, SRK had been doing that for decades. Thank you King Khan.

I liked Sharukh khan in Swades and he was enchanting, natural in his initial TV plays like Fauji. He has skills which a good screen-play, director can use. For example most of Sanjay dutt's, Aamir khan's performance in 90's were forgettable. How well their skills used by Raju Hirani, Vidhu Chopra etc.

That's one of the things I appreciate most about him. He acknowledges that Hollywood would never offer him the kind of roles that he would like and so he would take his films internationally rather than conforming and trying to fit in :)

He doesn't have to he is already the richest actor in the world. Indian film with a pan global appeal is what we expect from him. may be a film costing 100 million dollars would do justice. Given the low cost of working in India compared to west with 100 million dollars magic can be created on screen that will mesmerize everyone. This is what a Tamil film "BAHUBALI" achieved in 2015. It was dubbed into Hindi and became a blockbuster grossing 150 crores in Hindi alone. In that movie less money was spent on remuneration to actors but more on technicalities. It mesmerized everyone for months.

I think Hritik Roshan or Salman Khan would do a better job in Hollywood than Shah Rukh. May be a Rambo series movie with Hritik or why not Salman as British agent James Bond. When we can have a Sadiq Khan as mayor of London why not Salman Khan as James Bond?
