Humayun Saeed to play lovesick Romeo in Dil Lagi

Jawani couple Humayun Saeed-Mehwish Hayat return to TV screens
Updated 12 Sep, 2016

Humayun Saeed's on-screen love life will take a hit in his upcoming TV drama Dil Lagi.

The ladies' man from Jawani Phir Nahi Ani will now see Mehwish Hayat coolly spurn his declarations of love.

In the first teaser of Dil Lagi, Humayun says his world revolves around Mehwish. Mehwish says he couldn't find a place in her heart even if he was made of gold. Ouch.

The teaser features a shot of Mehwish in an all-black ensemble, which suggests that perhaps she is mourning the loss of her beloved.

Let's see how long his feelings remain unrequited.

The drama will be produced by Humayun’s production house Six Sigma Plus and directed by Nadeem Beyg of Jawani Phir Nahi Ani fame.

The actor had been missing in action on television as he had been rolling out one big cinematic hit after another; following the mammoth success of Bin Roye and JPNA at the box office, the Main Hoon Shahid Afridi star will be seen next in Dr. Hassan Waqas Rana's Yalghaar.

Isn't he too old to play lovesick Romeo!

He should start acting his age now. Too old for such roles, the industry is full of younger, better-looking men.

Why doesn't he get the point that he looks like Mehwish's dad.

Humayun Saeed does not look good in lead roles as a hero! More like late Mohammad Ali, he always looked too old to be cast as a hero. He should consider elder brother or uncles's roles.

Humayun Saeed is the best actor Pakistan has. He is doing great and providing great entertainment for everyone. Learn to appreciate quality work rather than criticize. Where does everyone go when Indian so called Super Stars of Pakistan SRK, Salman, and Aamir romance actresses half their age. As a country we need to create our stars who are looked up elsewhere. He is one of those guys alongside Shaan that provide quality entertainment. Keep on doing your best Humayun!!!

I would say both are not looking young ones. Hehwish has also picking up age thing on her face(which she is). I think they both still have couple of years before going into non young roles.

@Sumair. Very well said! We should cherish him and his dedication to Pakistani show-biz. But comparing him with Shaan would be unjust to latter. Hyderabad, Pakistan

He is good actor and will probably make some sense of his role in this forthcoming project. It is a common problem among actors, particularly males , both in Pakistan and neighbouring country, to keep doing leading romantic roles even into their 50's and not hang up shoes or move to more age appropriate roles until the their headlights start flickering. The other problem is that industry lacks private investors and government funding so trying younger blood is considered a risk.
