The country is rightly excited about the high-profile Pakistan Super League, and last night Karachi showed its support for home team Karachi Kings at a concert thrown in its honour.

Hosted by Fahad Mustafa and featuring talent including Ali Azmat, Saleem Javed, Fuzon, Asim Azhar, Shazia Khushk, Ali Haider, Komal Rizvi and Faakhir Mehmood and here's a glimpse of what you missed:

The 'blue carpet' was buzzing before the concert began. Fahad Mustafa looked cool as the em cee of the night:

Everyone from Mathira to Umar Sharif showed up in support of the team:

President ARY Salman Iqbal could hardly contain his excitement:

The Karachi Kings team took a grand selfie:

However, it was the biggest fan of the sport who stole the show. Chacha Cricket swooped down on the event with a big Pakistani flag:

Meanwhile, the singers waited their turn to sing. Ali Azmat and Komal Rizvi chatted on this sidelines:

Shazia Khusk was dressed to the nines:

The concert kicked off with a lovely fireworks display:

And the crowd stood mesmerised:

But it was Governor Ishrat-ul-Ebad's performance of the national anthem that really got the crowd going:

Given the buzz, it isn't surprising that the concert didn't start on time. Due to the delays, artistes, including Komal Rizvi, were not able to perform in the effort to wrap up the event on time.

A beautiful ceremony which was long overdue. Reminded me of the electric atmosphere from Pakistan vs England one day in 2000. It was thrilling to see so many celebrities supporting their city regardless of their alliances. Love you forever Karachi xxx. Well done PSL!!!

Wonderful! All this should help bring a positive change in the country in general and Karachi in particular. In Europe, almost everyone has affiliation with some sports team and he/she follow the team passionately.

Karachi will get good media coverage and marketing because Salman Iqbal owns Ary group. However, the ACTUAL show will be between Peshawar and Quetta. Peshawar have a very well balanced team and they are focusing heavily on getting a strong technical team. Quetta have suprised me the most and they may well cause a huge upset. Kevin Peteirson, Jason Holder, Chigumbura, Ahmed Shehzad, Luke Wright and wait a sec... they have Sangakarra.. No one has talked about Quetta, but I reckon, they will steal the show or otherwise Peshawar,

Very Good show and effort by ARY for KHI. Excellent stuff by Governor. Fahad's shades were over doing after sometime esp. when he was talking to Governor. Respect elder Fahad. Salman Iqbal keep it up, but keep low profile now.
