Sweet! Salman Khan meets his 11-year-old Pakistani fan

Following the liver transplant of Abdul Basit, Salman went to meet the boy who showed a desire to meet the actor
10 Dec, 2015

It appears that Salman Khan is not unlike his Bajrangi Bhaijaan character — the actor recently granted the wish of a 11-year-old Pakistani boy when he went to meet him in Mumbai, reported The Indian Express.

The young lad, Abdul Basit successfully underwent a liver transplant in Delhi after severe complications. The child who developed severe jaundice soon after his birth had to go through continuous phototherapy for two months after his birth to combat brain damage and hearing loss.

However his condition worsened later when his skin thickened. The only viable solution was a liver transplant for which he was referred to Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals in Delhi where his surgery was successful.

Basit's family was keen to meet the superstar and were more than happy when their request as fulfilled as Salman met the boy on Monday and snapped a picture with him.

People should thank the real heroes more i.e. Doctors, Surgeons. The misplaced sense of idols is also taking us nowhere.

A wonderful gesture from a busy actor for a young man & his parents who have gone through a lot. So it is possible to forge relationships with our enemy neighbour. Even Shiv Sena would approve this and not throw ink or ban innocent well meaning Pakistanis.

Kids are being fed false ideas about life. Movies are just a façade, not real life. How can a child think an actor is a hero, its very worrisome !

@Ankush brother your please is more powerful than an atom bomb. It requires a huge moral courage to overcome the flippant trivialities which I usually see on face book from both sides of the subcontinent. We are not but the interests of the Macaulian classes are a true cause of bilateral hatred and conflict. The moment the public of both the countries reject these black sheep, we will truly move forward.
