The good, the bad and the ugly of Tamasha — according to Twitter

The good, the bad and the ugly of Tamasha — according to Twitter

One disgruntled fan says "Don't waste 5 Mb searching for Tamasha on Torrent" while another calls it a "masterpiece"
27 Nov, 2015

After a string of movies that have gone south, will Tamasha change Ranbir Kapoor's luck?

Tamasha is a romantic drama enveloping Ved (Ranbir Kapoor) and Tara (Deepika Padukone) who meet in Corsica and keep their identity a secret from one another. The platonic relationship takes a romantic turn and after years, fate brings them back together; that's what forms the crux of the plot.

The Ranbir-Deepika starrer, which has been directed by Imtiaz Ali and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, released today and already everyone has something to say about the movie.

There was abundant positive feedback.

Looks like Ranbir got his groove back.

Deepika seems to have delivered, as always — is there anything this woman can't do?

Then there's the not-so-constructive criticism.

And more...

The mixed reviews have us confused; we'll just have to see for ourselves!

Usually, Bollywood do copies from Hollywood. This is the reason most people don't want to watch bolly movies.

To each his/her own. Don't generalize and enforce your views of others.

Tamasha tells you that it is against conformism and the modern mechanical life but it does not give you what is for substantively. The alternate it gives you is of a man who shouts, dances in the class etc and generally behaves badly. It could work as a satire for some parts of youth who want to act as superstars without working hard for it. However, Tamasha takes itself too seriously. It never truly tells the audience or the main protagonist's parents what is he good at except that he likes listening to stories. Even the initial and last scenes of movie are supposed to reveal the hidden talent of Vaid (Ranbhir) are mediocre stage products. So as I said Tamasha could work as a satire but not as a serious movie about a man finding his true calling and excelling.

Watched the first day show in Dubai. Tamasha is no doubt the WORST movie I have ever seen in my whole life ! A crap story line, horrible music and unbearable script.

@Abdul : i absolutely agree...i simply dint understand what the movie tried to convey!!!! God knows in what world do these filmmakers live...i mean so out of touch with reality...wish imtiaz ali knew how satisfying an ordinary life can be...just prancing around half naked in exotic locations does not make one intellectually superior ...mungeri lal ke hasin sapne are just that ....sapne...am an Indian and in no way do these flicks represnt the everyday life of ours...

loved this movie, one of best from Imtiaz ali and Ranbir kapoor, aff course fan of Prem ratan dhan paayo will find it disgusting. Ranbir n Dipika excels as usual, for me this the best Imtiaz Ali movie. its not normal story so many will not find this movie appealing (P.S --liking or disliking is very subjective thing anyway)

Gem of a movie. Imtiaz Ali has written &directed a Masterpiece. It's a movie about self discovery. Those who like the run of the mill stuff might not be able to appreciate it. BRILLIANT. 'Nuff Said.
