JPNA on the the red carpet: Style highs and lows

Maybe along with the revival of cinema, red carpet fashion also needs a revival!
Updated 20 Oct, 2015

While Jawani Phir Nahi Ani premiered to positive reviews from critics, the same can't be said for the red carpet fashion we've seen so far.

With such a big ensemble cast, there were bound to be some misses but this many? Safe to say, we were a little disappointed.

Let's be a little glass half full and take a look at the hits we spotted first:

Sarwat Gillani in Sania Maskatiya

White seems to be the colour of the season and Sarwat is working it, with a little splash of colour.

Aisha Khan in Shehla Chatoor

It seems like Khan may be Chatoor's new muse instead of Ayesha Omar. We're loving this off the shoulder top!

Sohai Ali Abro in Feeha Jamshed

Abro started making waves on the red carpet while promoting Wrong Number. Jawani Phir Nahi Ani wasn't as fashionably auspicious for her but she definitely got it right with this Feeha Jamshed outfit.

Humayun Saeed in... a grey suit?

How dapper does he look in his well-stitched suit and sharp tie?

Nausheen Shah in Deepak Perwani

Okay, we know she wasn't in the movie but we didn't have much to choose from and just look at that edgy mix pf prints!

And here are the red carpet fails:

Mehwish Hayat in Nomi Ansari

Brown isn't the most glamorous colour to begin with and paired with white, it doesn't exactly scream sexy.

And again! Elie Saab does the gradient well. HSY? Not so much; this looks more like a bad curtain.

Sarwat Gilani in Shehla Chatoor

A daring outfit, no doubt about it. However, sometimes, it's better to stick to the tried and tested -- the Magnum party is over, it's time to move on ladies.

Mehwish Hayat in Amato Couture

We have a repeat offender here! Frankly, we don't think human eyes are made to adjust to that much golden in one go.

Sohai in Ali Xeeshan

Sure, we love taking the ethnic route too but this was a bit too gaudy to digest on the red carpet.

Vasay Chaudhry in a polka dotted vest and no blazer...

Well, this one is pretty self-explanatory.

And here is #vasaychaudhry with his beautiful wife at #jawaniphirnahiani premiere in Dubai.

From what we've heard, the movie is much better than the fashion choices made by the cast; who's going to watch it this Eid?
